DIY Enduring Power of Attorney
|
Important Note: The cut-off to make an EPA was the 1st October 2007. You can no longer make an Enduring Power of Attorney. |
All information below now refers to the new Lasting Power of Attorney
Whilst it is not too difficult to may a DIY Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), this is definitely not an option we would recommend.
The reason is that, like making a Will, the DIY route can be fraught with danger. If you get it wrong there could be problems in the future and at worst it could render your LPA invalid.
If you DO choose to go the DIY LPA route you can download the correct form at Clickdocs . You need one form per person.
However, as each form costs £11.28 you should consider making your Lasting Power of Attorney Online instead. If you make an LPA Online at TenMinuteWill there is no chance of making a mistake as they are all solicitor checked. In addition they have a free trial and money back guarantee.
Making an LPA online costs £27.95. In our opinion it is better to spend the small extra amount rather than taking the (cheaper) DIY EPA route.
